What is the difference between an Euler diagram and a Venn diagram?

Both Venn diagrams and Euler diagrams represent relationships among sets, but the major difference lies in "how relationships are represented." Venn diagram: Draws "all" conceivable overlapping regions. Even if a region contains 0 elements, the region itself is still drawn. Euler diagram: Draws "only" the regions where elements actually exist (where the value is not 0). Sets with no common part are drawn as separate, non-overlapping circles. For example, with two sets such as "mammals" and "fish," a Venn diagram draws two overlapping circles to show that the common part is 0, whereas an Euler diagram draws the two circles completely apart, representing more intuitively that no common part exists.

How do I add a circle (set) to the chart?

In the input field in the "Set Management" section, enter the name of a new set (e.g., "Male" or "In their 20s"), then click the "+" button or press Enter. The new set is added to the list.

How do I enter the value for each part?

Accepted Answer

You set this in the "Value Management" section. When you add a set, all conceivable combinations (individual sets and the overlapping parts between sets) are automatically listed. Enter a value in the input field next to each item.

I want to delete a set I added by mistake.

Accepted Answer

Click the trash icon (🗑️) on the right side of each item shown in the "Set Management" list to delete that set. When you delete a set, the values related to that set are also deleted automatically.

Can I change the color of a circle?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Click the colored square for each set in the "Set Management" list to open the color picker. Select your preferred color to freely change the color of the circle.

How can I save the chart as an image?

Accepted Answer

Click the "Download Image" button below the preview area to download your chart in PNG/JPEG/SVG format with your chosen quality. If you want to change the aspect ratio, drag the handle at the bottom-right corner of the preview frame to adjust it.

Is there an auto-save feature?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is. Your chart data is saved automatically to your browser's local storage. When you reload the page, or close and reopen your browser, you can restore the saved data. You can also revert to the default data by pressing the reset button at the top-right of the data input area. Local storage data is saved only in your browser and is not shared with other users. If local storage is disabled in your browser settings, the auto-save feature will not work. Clearing your browser cache will also delete the saved data.

How do I save my data temporarily?

Click the "Save & Publish Chart" button below the preview area to temporarily save your chart. You can re-edit it later using the URL and password issued when you saved it. You can also publish the chart publicly via URL.

You can load a chart using the "Resume from Saved Data" button. When loading, enter the URL and password issued when you saved it.
