You can view at a glance the flow of a family line from ancestors to descendants, and intuitively understand the relationships among family members and relatives.

Accepted Answer

Operate as follows. Adding a person: Select a person node, then easily add a "Spouse," "Child," or "Parent" from the buttons shown on the right. Editing information: Double-click a person node to open a screen where you can edit detailed information such as name, dates of birth and death, and photo. Deleting: Select the person or relationship line you want to delete, then click the "Delete selected item" button in the sidebar, or press the Delete or Backspace key on your keyboard. Moving: Move the view up, down, left, and right by scrolling with the mouse. Zooming: Hold Ctrl while using the mouse wheel to zoom in and out. You can also zoom in by double-clicking an empty area.

Please tell me about automatic layout.

Accepted Answer

When automatic layout is enabled, the positions of person nodes are adjusted automatically to generate an easy-to-read family tree. The layout updates each time you add or delete a node. If you want to move nodes manually, turn off automatic layout. When creating a complex family tree, we recommend turning off automatic layout.

How do I add a person's photo?

Double-click a person node to open the edit screen. From the "Select photo" button in the "Photo" section, you can upload an image file saved on your device. It will be displayed cropped into a circle.

Can I change the style of relationship lines (parent-child, spouse)?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. Spouse line: By default it is shown as a red double line, but you can select the line and freely change its color, thickness, type (solid, dashed, dotted), and label (e.g., wedding anniversary) from "Individual line settings" in the sidebar. Parent-child line: Newly created parent-child lines use the style (shape, color, thickness, type) specified in "Basic line settings" in the sidebar. Even after creation, you can select an individual line and change its style.

How do I save the family tree I created?

There are three save methods. Auto-save feature: Your work is saved to your browser's local storage, so you can resume editing even after closing the page, as long as you use the same browser. Save on the web: You can save to the cloud. When saving, you can choose whether to publish it on the web. JSON file: Click the "Export as JSON" button to save all family tree data in JSON format. You can later import this file to resume editing. Alternatively, you can download it as an image from the download icon button. (You cannot resume editing a family tree from an image file.)

How do I resume editing a saved family tree?

The auto-save feature stores data in your browser's local storage, so you can resume editing even after closing the page, as long as you use the same browser. If you saved on the web: Click the file icon at the top right of the screen and enter the URL and password shown when you saved, to resume editing. If you downloaded a JSON file: You can resume editing your previous family tree by loading the saved JSON file again. Click the "Import from JSON" button in the sidebar and select your saved JSON file.

I made a mistake. Can I reset?

Yes. Pressing the "Reset" button in the sidebar returns the family tree to its initial state (with sample data displayed). Please note that your current edits will be lost. There is no "Undo" feature for reverting only a specific action, so we recommend saving frequently.

Question 9

Even when I press the "Add child" button, no child is added.

Accepted Answer

To add a child, the person must have a "Spouse" set. Add a spouse first, then try the "Add child" button again.

Is the privacy of the family tree I create protected?

Accepted Answer

Your content will not be made public unless you check "Publish on the web" when saving on the web. Also, please rest assured that saved data will not be used for any purpose other than operating this service.

Is there an auto-save feature?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is. Your chart data is saved automatically to your browser's local storage. When you reload the page, or close and reopen your browser, you can restore the saved data. You can also revert to the default data by pressing the reset button at the top-right of the data input area. Local storage data is saved only in your browser and is not shared with other users. If local storage is disabled in your browser settings, the auto-save feature will not work. Clearing your browser cache will also delete the saved data.
