What is a Gantt chart?

How do I add a task?

Drag across an empty row of the timeline and a task is created for that period, opening the edit dialog. For existing bars, drag the middle to move them and drag the left or right edge to change the start or end date. You can also use the Task, Milestone and Group buttons.

Yes. Click a task to open the edit dialog and choose its predecessors; they are linked with finish-to-start (FS) arrows. A warning appears if the dependencies form a cycle. You can toggle the arrows under Display settings.

Yes. A milestone is a zero-duration marker shown as a diamond. A group (summary task) automatically spans the start and end of its child tasks and can be collapsed. Set these from Type and Parent group in the edit dialog.

Yes. Switch between day, week, month and quarter under Display settings, and adjust the density with zoom. You can also change weekend shading, the today line, row height and the color theme.

Yes. Use the + button at the top of the editor to add a new chart and switch with the select box at any time. The copy icon duplicates the whole current chart. When you save or publish, the title of the first chart is used.

Yes. You can download it as an image (PNG, JPEG, SVG), print it or export to PDF, and publish it by URL. Your edits are auto-saved in the browser, and each download is recorded in history so you can restore it later.

Click the "Download Image" button below the preview area to download your chart in PNG/JPEG/SVG format with your chosen quality. If you want to change the aspect ratio, drag the handle at the bottom-right corner of the preview frame to adjust it.

Is there an auto-save feature?

Accepted Answer

Yes, there is. Your chart data is saved automatically to your browser's local storage. When you reload the page, or close and reopen your browser, you can restore the saved data. You can also revert to the default data by pressing the reset button at the top-right of the data input area. Local storage data is saved only in your browser and is not shared with other users. If local storage is disabled in your browser settings, the auto-save feature will not work. Clearing your browser cache will also delete the saved data.

How do I save my data temporarily?

Click the "Save & Publish Chart" button below the preview area to temporarily save your chart. You can re-edit it later using the URL and password issued when you saved it. You can also publish the chart publicly via URL.

You can load a chart using the "Resume from Saved Data" button. When loading, enter the URL and password issued when you saved it.
